Cover letter generator
What does this tool do?
Most cover letters are either generic templates or rewritten resumes. This tool reads the job description, matches it against your background, and writes a letter that connects the two. It highlights where your experience directly fits the role and speaks to what the employer is actually looking for — not just a list of past jobs.
Tips for better results
- Paste the full job description. The more detail you give, the more targeted the letter. If the job posting lists "requirements" and "responsibilities," include both.
- Be specific in your background. "Managed marketing" produces generic output. "Ran paid acquisition for a DTC skincare brand, grew ROAS from 1.8 to 3.2 over 6 months" produces targeted output.
- Choose achievement style for competitive roles. For senior positions or industries like consulting, finance, or tech, the achievement-focused style leads with numbers and outcomes.
- Use career change style if switching fields. It reframes past experience as relevant rather than treating it as a gap.
Frequently asked questions
Is this tool free?
Yes. It runs on Cloudflare Workers AI with a free daily quota. Normal use won't hit limits.
Will this get me flagged by employers?
Not if you treat it as a draft. The tool produces a starting point. Good candidates edit the output to add specific details, correct anything inaccurate, and make it sound like them. Submitting raw AI output is obvious and hurts your application.
Is my information stored?
No. Your job description and background are sent to the AI model for processing and discarded immediately after. Nothing is stored, logged, or used for training.
Does it invent achievements?
No. The prompt explicitly tells the model not to invent numbers, employers, or achievements that aren't in your background. However, you should still review every sentence — the model can occasionally rephrase things in ways that overstate your experience.
What is the ideal cover letter length?
One page, or roughly 300-400 words. Recruiters spend 6-8 seconds on a first scan. Medium length is the safest default. Use Short for high-volume applications where the role is a strong match; use Long only when the job posting asks for a detailed letter.
